Moneyskill Personal Finance Course

One of the great needs of young people has been addressed with the MoneySKILL® personal finance course. How to manage your personal finances has been a subject area long missing from the typical high school education in America.

MoneySKILL® is a highly interactive, reality-based Internet curriculum.

Its purpose is to educate students to make informed financial decisions. The course consists of 34 “How To” modules on income, money management, spending and credit, and saving and investing. The modules are designed to be approximately 40 minutes in length.

MoneySKILL® includes two real-life simulations which allow creation of a personal, financial plan from the time a student is financially independent of parents to the intended age of retirement.

MoneySKILL® is ideal for high schools because it incorporates three specific features:

1. It is free!
2. The teacher can go through the program as a student and learn where
he/she is strong in the subject matter and where additional preparation
  is needed.
3. A built-in grade book electronically records each student’s pre- and
post-test scores, module test scores and course grade.

The program has to be administered by a teacher. If you are a teacher who would like to bring MoneySKILL® into your classroom you can register online. Sign-up requires that you provide MoneySKILL administrators with information regarding your educational environment. After completing the sign-up form, you will be instructed on using the teacher grade book and student sign-up form.
